  1. Hey guys I am having a hell of a time with our Dell Latitude 5480 model. This started after moving to update 3080 on SmartDeploy. I don't really think that it has anything to do with that, but figured I would mention it. So after moving to 3080 I updated my windows image, downloaded the updated platform packs. and created some new offline media to use for deploying our image. All of our other machine models are doing fine, but the Dell 5480 does not seem to like it. So after deployment, when it gets to the logon screen it shows it does not have any Network, and when we try to sign into the local account it just does nothing then asks for the password again. When you try to input the password again it will just keep telling you that the password is incorrect. I can't figure out what is happening. I have tried removing the newest platform pack that came out for the 5480's and tried the older one to see if that was the problem and that did not work, just gives the same issues. I also tried doing it deployment with out any platform packs, but again no gain. I tried rebuilding the image to see if that was the problem, and again that did not work. No as I mentioned before with the same image my other model machines that I have are not having any troubles.... Please help.

  3. Hey Guys, So I just have a simple question. I'm wonder how exactly does SmartDeploy keep track of licensed computers. Does it match a seat to a computers Serial number, or does it take a computers unique ID? Here is an example that might help with my question. say if we have a computer that is currently has the SmartDeploy Software on it and the computer say is name "ITxxx" then the machine gets re imaged and the name changes to "SDxxx" Would SmartDeploy know its the same computer even after the name has changed? Stupid Question I know... I'm sure I know the answer just want to verify. Thanks guys!
  4. Hmm, It stats that a compatible TPM cannot be found. I have verified that TPM 1.2 is Enabled in the bios, but it still does not see the TPM.
  5. Correct we are using Enterprise 1607. When I run that command it does give both -RecoveryPassword and -Password in the list
  6. Hey guys so i'm having a bit of troubles getting BitLocker to enable on first login. I'm currently using this script which I found here on Smart Deploy "manage-bde.exe -on C : -RecoveryPassword -SkipHardwareTest" We have setup the group policy, and I have made sure that TPM is enabled in the machines BIOS, but it doesn't seem to want to enable BitLocker. When I take that script and try to run it manually to see if its running into any issues, and i do get something back, I have attached an image. So i'm wondering if there is something wrong with the cmd line. I'm wondering if there is different script I should use to get it to start the encryption and store the key to AD. Thanks for the help guys!
  7. Thats what I figured... I do already have SmartDeploy installed on a local machine which is how i create the media now, so thats not to bad. But I do have a question on that matter. Is there a way to have the 2nd computer see my computers here that are enrolled into SmartDeploy?
  8. Hey Guys, Another question for everyone. We ended up putting our SmartDeploy in a VM. Is it possible to create the offline media and have it write to a usb? I tried making it so the VM see the usb thats plugged into my computer, but when trying to create the media it refuses to see the drive. Is there a way around this?

  10. Hey guys, So I am wondering if there is a way to have the Answer file grab the computers serial number, instead of the Asset tag. We use dell computers, So i would need to be able to get the Service tag. Thanks for the help!

  12. Hey Guys, I'm new to the SmartDeploy community, and i'm wondering if there is a way to choose the install locations of the SmartDeploy Client. Like installing any other program you are able to install it in a location of your choice. Thanks for the help guys!
