  1. Ok I did some more testing. I've determined it is the HP\Compaq DX7500 and 6000pro that don't work. The HP dc5700 does work. Must be a different NIC than the DX7500 and 6000 pro. We have both Dell and HP desktops. I created seperate SD network boot media for all makes and models we have. All of the network boot media using Dell PPKs worked. My company has not renewed its support for SmartDeploy. Looks like we may be going in another direction.
  2. Hello, I am trying to make boot media that will connect to a network share that contains the image. I walk thru the "build Boot Media" wizzard. I select the .ppk I downloaded from smartdeploy.com for the model of PC I need to image. I boot to the CD but the PC never gets an IP and the network card isn't detected. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi Wally, I been using smart deploy for a while to re-image desktops that are already in production and using our standard naming scheme WSDELL+Dell service tag. It works great. Here is my problem. I haven't had to reimage one out of the box. Now that we are getting all new Optiplex 380's, I am trying to use my image with the new PPK for the 380. Everything loads fine but smartdeploy won't name the desktop WSDELL+service tag. It grabs the service tag and puts a d in front. EX.. D62RCDX1. It should be WSDELL62RCDX1. I don't see anything in my answer file that would do it. I guess work on the old PCs because it pulls the existing name from the PC I am reimaging. It won't auto generate in the right format on the new pcs. I have no idea where it is pulling the D from on the new PCs. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have 200 new ones to deploy shortly. Thanks. DPS
