HP Sure Recovery after first boot

Recommended Posts

Good Morning,

We get a HP Sure Recovery message first boot after a successful image. This has been happening, I just got used to using the workaround, which is ESC in HP Sure Recovery window, F2 in "BootDevice Not Found" window and Exit in "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" Window. After that, Windows will load normally.

Is there anyway not to see that HP Sure Recovery window?

We have TPM turned off and Legacy enabled.

Thank you...

JM

Hi Jay,

I think we'll need to see some logs and ask a few more questions on this - can you submit a support ticket here, and we can assist further?

What I did...  I switched the “Sure Start Security Event Policy” to “Log Event Only” in BIOS Sure Start under the Security tab. It was defaulted to Log event and notify user. This will stop prompting you about a Firmware change... blablabla.

Hi Jay,

As my colleague noted on the other thread, Sure Start is a different feature, separate from Sure Recovery.

You can disable HP Sure Recovery under Advanced | HP Sure Recovery.

I'd like you to try disabling this feature, but I'd also like you to make sure that the boot mode is set to UEFI only, TPM is enabled, and Secure Boot is enabled. You may find it easiest to just reset the BIOS to its factory defaults, then check to confirm that Sure Recovery is disabled.

SURE RECOVERY HAS TO BE DISABLED FOR IMAGING TO WORK. If not, it will prompt on every single BOOT if you want to restore the computer. This is done via BIOS.
