pgc Posted December 31, 2014 Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 I am attempting to add my boot and install images for a Windows 8.1 pxe boot. Boot image added fine, but each time I reconstruct the VM wim I get "file does not contain a valid install image". I am following the enterprise guide to a T. checked the 'for wds deployment' boxes, etc. I properly restart and shut down the image before I capture and media wizard. What could be the issue here? SmartDeploySupport Posted January 1, 2015 Report Share Posted January 1, 2015 PGC, There is a known issue with capturing Windows 8.1 that may be the cause. To successfully capture you'll need to do the following: 1. Boot your reference VM 2. Open Command Prompt Type: shutdown /s /t 0 3. Recapture and redeploy If you've already tried this, please email support@smartdeploy.com and we'll look at what else may be causing this issue.
